After 16 years as a full-time production artist and
art director, I found myself out in the cold, cruel world of
freelancing. And to make it worse, I chose to be an illustrator and
cartoonist! What was I thinking?
But only when I got involved in NJCN did I get the inside knowledge
and business connections to make a living doing what I loved. And
the friendships I've made in the group are more valuable than the
tips and advice I got, and continues to this day.
I agreed to become involved on the Board over ten years ago as
Program Director, and stayed there through three Presidents, until I
stepped up to the post for two years as President. I learned a lot,
and thoroughly enjoyed my term, even managing to avoid any scandals
or charges of impropriety. That's more than a lot of U.S. Presidents
can say! |
